Anyone who knows anything about Venice knows that it’s a city that was built on water. Or, more technically, it’s a city that exists on approximately 118 small islands, connected by over 400 different bridges. 

Ever since it was the capital of the Republic of Venice, people have admired this region’s architecture and unique boat-centric way of life. Though the city has seen its fair share of floods and storms through the ages, the truth is that things have been changing lately.
