Wow! For a fish that is known to not taste so great, Abe Sackheim’s 114 lbs. Roosterfish is pretty amazing! Caught in Roosterfish territory, out on the Pacific Ocean near La Paz, Mexico in 1960, it is truly mind blowing that this record has not been caught!! It is one of the most popular catch-and-release fish to target and with tons of mega roosterfish pics circulating the internet nowadays it’s really a head scratcher that his record has not been broken! Maybe because most of these fish are typically caught and released but for Abe, he caught this beauty in 20 min on a trolling lure and the rest is history.
