Linking Your Brain to a Computer
A few of Musk’s ideas are straight out of Black Mirror – like the invention of Neuralink. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a company that’s in the process of developing “neuro lace” technology to allow humans to communicate directly with machines by placing electrodes in the brain. This makes it possible to download or upload your thoughts into a computer. Sound terrifying? That’s because it is.
The company has been secretive about its tools and plans for the future, but Musk stated in summer 2019 that they have already developed “threads” to be embedded in the brain, and they hope to install in a human patient by 2020.
