Why are people conscious?
A very wise philosopher once said, “I think, therefore I am.” To a point, that’s true. Humanity exists in its current form because we all are capable of thought. We’re all capable of being aware. That alone brings up a really strange question— how does that actually happen?!
Consciousness is an extremely complex phenomenon, and it’s one that is noted in a wide range of species. But, the thing is, we don’t really know why we are conscious or how our brains even developed cognizance.
The more you think about consciousness, the stranger the phenomenon gets. It’s still not fully certain how it even occurs in our bodies. All things considered, it’s really a spooky phenomenon that would take scientists ages to prove…if they ever do.
