When you think of Rich Uncle Pennybags, the Monopoly icon, what comes to mind? Tophat, cane, moustache and monocle? Contrary to popular belief, he doesn’t have a monocle, and never did.
Many people imagine the board game icon with a monocle, and researchers aren’t exactly sure why. One theory is that they’re confusing him with Mr. Peanut, the Planters mascot who also has a top hat and cane, and does wear a monocle. However, we’re convinced it’s because the Mandela Effect is 100% real!
