The Flat Earth Society has made playwright George Bernard Shaw into a de facto mascot thanks to a quote involving belief in a flat Earth. That being said, the quote featured in his play needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Shaw later on explained that he didn’t want anyone to get the belief that Earth was flat. So, this is more a matter of cherry-picking by the Flat Earth Society, rather than a case of a true believer.
